Interview with Melinda Crown, Founder of Girls In Power
The GIP Foundation, Inc. is empowering teen girls through the Girls in Power “Program.” GirlsinPower.org’s mission is to provide teen girls the tools to believe in themselves. GIP is inspiring youth to have a healthy perspective and a purposeful attitude through self-awareness, self-management, and self-empowering skill-building workshops so that they become mindful contributors to society.
As a parent of 3 daughters, Melinda is wrapping up her first Kindle book, a guidebook, entitled “Empower Your Girl.” She is thrilled to be able to offer parents a guide book which highlights her secrets to building effective relationships with her daughters and others. Her secrets include how she effectively and proactively parented; how she learned to set the appropriate boundaries, how she assisted her daughters with managing of their own anxieties as well as what tools she uses for herself on a daily basis to manage stress and anxiety, and what enabled her to teach her daughters how to effectively communicate their needs. Interview with Rod Dixon, Founder of Kids Marathon Foundation
Rod Dixon KiDSMARATHON Foundation
KiDSMARATHON mission is to provide scholarships to at-risk KiDS, especially those at risk to obesity-related health issues; to inspire and empower KiDS with a lifelong commitment to activity; to encourage fitness habits and healthy food choices; and to achieve individual success during their in-school KiDSMARATHON program.
KiDSMARATHON is a 8-10 week “In School” running & nutrition education program that enables KiDS to complete a full marathon (26.2 miles) by running approximately 3 miles per week. Throughout the program, KiDS learn the value of good exercise and nutrition habits for healthy living and, best of all, they have fun! The program is completed in grand fashion as each child finishes the “Final Mile” of their marathon distance in front of hundreds (often thousands!) of cheering fans, friends, and family at one of our Partnering Events.
Interview with Beth Pattee, Co-Founder of WhatCanWe.org
WhatCanWe.org raises awareness and funds for licensed, non-profit animal rescues in order to help offset the financial hardships most currently endure due to overwhelming veterinary expenses. WhatCanWe.org creates and implements meaningful, easily replicated fundraising projects for licensed animal rescues, individuals, and groups within communities. These innovative fundraisers and programs have started on a local level with the goal of duplicating and implementing them for the benefit of animal rescues nationwide. Ultimately, WhatCanWe.org would like to create a non-profit teaching veterinary clinic that offers low or no-cost veterinary care to licensed, non-profit rescues.
